Yet another fairy...
Posted in fairy, Teresa Wentzler on 12:42 pm by JanuaryA few years ago I started working on "Spring Fairy" by Teresa Wentzler as a companion piece to "Summer Fairy". Because of the mistake I made when I did the summer fairy (stitching it on 22ct fabric), to make the pieces match the Spring fairy must be on the same material. These are some of the tiniest stitches! Last night I got it all set up on the stand, and collected all the floss (57 different colours, making up twice as many thread blends). I even had a chance to do about an hour of stitching.
At least now I have a project to work on that I'm interested in doing!

Completed Spring 2007, and it took approx 130 hours. Its the first (and so far only) piece that I tracked my time on). Not sure if I will do that any more...
"Playful fairies" - Stoney Creek
Posted in fairy, Stoney Creek on 11:38 pm by JanuaryI did this piece for my mom in 1998. It is a small fairy from a bell pull that had 6 fairies in it.
"Enchanted Dreamer" - Mirabilia
Posted in fairy, Mirabilia on 10:16 pm by January Wedding piece 3 of 6. A dreamer for my cousin Amanda, the dreamer. She was my bridesmaid.
Completed for May 2002.
"Fairy Moon" - Mirabilia
Posted in fairy, Mirabilia on 10:14 pm by January James and I were married in May 2002. As gifts for our parents, my attendants, and our MC, I did a piece for each of them. This is the first piece in the set. I'm not sure what order I did these in, but lets just say they were completed in May 2002.
I did this piece for my maid-of-honour, Krista.
I love how it looks finished, but it wasn't great to do - TONS of beads (the entire moon and the swirls in the sky), and the dress part was a little boring as its only a few colours.
"Summer Fairy" - Teresa Wentzler
Posted in fairy, Teresa Wentzler on 12:56 pm by January The second piece I ever completed. Pretty ambitious for a second piece, but it was so beautiful I couldn't resist.
I made a mistake when I bought the material for this piece, and did it on 22ct Hardanger material - thats 22 stitches per inch. I now do all my stitching on 32ct material - thats only 16 stitches per inch.
I have some close-up pictures posted on Flickr.
Completed 1997.
